Tucker Carlson is such a misogynist that he expressed the desire to hit a woman because she wrote a book he didn't like. Yet, the man keeps his high-profile and well-paid position.

I also dislike the way the network trots out African American conservatives to reinforce its lack of understanding of the struggles confronting minority populations in the US.

On the other hand, when you compare FOX to CNN, Fox only looks slightly worse, not a lot worse.

Recall the leadup to the Iraq war. CNN, especially Wolf Blitzer, was all in favor of that war and did no critical reporting of the WMD claims, as far as I know.

Many FOX anchors, on the other hand, have at least reversed course on US militarism and actively question America's no-end, no-win wars. Greg Gutfield, Laura Ingraham, and yes, the hated Tucker Carlson criticize this brutal aspect of American behavior.

Do CNN and MSNBC criticize US foreign policy as much? My impression is that they do very little criticism of US foreign policy, making themselves complicit by their silence in policies that have killed over a million people--in Iraq, Afghanistan, Pakistan, Somalia, and Yemen--where we don't fight but back Saudi policies that have led to over a million cholera cases and massive starvation.

CNN did something during the 2016 election that reveals their true colors. In his victory speech, Trump expressed a desire to cooperate with other countries and not wage war.

Few things are as important as a president-elect's foreign policy position. While CNN did air the entire speech live, in the edited version to be shown on later newscasts, they completely cut Trump's antiwar views.

By doing so, they made him look worse than he is. By obscuring these views, it left liberal viewers with the impression that only racist morons could vote for a man like him. Instead, maybe some people voted for him because they didn't want their kids to die in a war.

I guess CNN edited Trump's speech that way for two reasons:

1. The statement made Trump look somewhat decent and conflicted with their "orange man bad" narrative.

2. CNN's parent company is AT&T, which has billions of dollars in defense contracts.

My point is not that FOX news is a great media outlet. It is not. Rather, it is that CNN is just as bad, albeit in a different way.

If we want to deprive FOX of funds, we should also do the same thing to CNN.
