No. I am absolutely opposed to the corporal punishment of ALL children, regardless of sex. I especially oppose spanking, which is the most brutally degrading punishment around and one that is not devoid of sexual connotations.

If a man buys porn that features children's genitals, he can go to prison for decades. But if he pulls down a child's pants for a spanking, he gets the same thrill and no punishment at all because it's culturally sanctioned discipline.

I don't know how OFTEN this happens but it DOES happen. The FBI busted a child porn ring that focused on corporal punishment rather than specific genital contact between adults and children.

My point was that in their lust for punishment, evangelicals may be going beyond what even the Bible says about the practice. The Bible nowhere talks explicitly about spanking daughters and given the gender separation at the time--females had separate quarters in the houses--it was probably pretty rare that men spanked girls. .
