As a woman who has experienced much of what this article describes, I am of two minds about it. Yes, I have been treated this way and I hate it.

On the other hand, I firmly believe the better class of men dislike seeing women mistreated.

I remember with particular gratitude the men who stood up to a man who bullied me on line--and the man was one of the country's most famous conservative Christians.

None of the women participating in that discussion said anything. But two men did and one of the two wrote several replies to disagree with Mr. Christianity.

So, not all men are alike and women, in spite of their wrath at the bad ones, should remember the good ones and be careful not to generalize.

I also know lots of women who are highly indignant when men are mistreated. Remember that lots of women have fathers, husbands, sons, and brothers they love and will defend, sometimes with their lives.
